Widespread Panic Police Brutality

I live in a great small city. Tallahassee, Fl. Yep, that's right, the city of lights. I was with a friend this evening at a great Widespread Panic concert. I danced the Donkey Kong and then sat down for a slow minute to get lost in the music.

Suddenly, a police officer walked in front of me. He pointed to a guy up one row, "Come here!" The guy simply walked over. Then out of nowhere the ass hat grabbed the concert goer by his shirt with both hands and body slammed him onto the seats directly in front of me. The concert goer did not resist at all. He simply listened and obeyed the orders that Officer Ass Hat barked at him. Then Ass Hat slapped cuffs on one wrist and demanded that Concert Goer give him his other hand. The only problem was that Ass Hat had Concert Goer pinned down so hard he couldn't pull his other arm out. Ass Hat then threatened to shoot Concert Goer with his taser if he did not give him his hand immediately. Another concert goer helped Concert Goer and then Ass Hat toted him away.

I don't know why Ass Hat brutalized young Concert Goer and did not read him his Miranda Rights. As much as I could tell the guy got brutalized for taking a puff of marijuana. I realize the stuff is illegal in Florida but come on. Concert Goer will most likely have back problems for life from that brutal body slam onto chairs. We need to stand up for our rights in this country. The home of the free, right?

Mental Burnout...

I have been hard pressed to post recently due to the fact that I am sick to my stomach over what is happening in this election season. I scour the blogs, watch the bobble heads on T.V. and all I keep getting is the same story over and over again. Obama is an "elitist" who has a crazy pastor. Clinton lies about snipers and believes she can still win the nomination. Oh and McCain, well he's a maverick. It's just one big political eddy circling the drain of the tub that used to be democracy.

I don't care how many times people refer to McCain as an independent and a rogue Republican. I don't care if Obama's pastor was eating baby bald eagles for breakfast. I don't care if Clinton personally shot a sniper in Bosnia. This is all just bullshit thrown at the American people by the media to confuse them and to get them thinking not of the real issues but of trivial E! news crap.

I want policies. I want real deal ideas that will reverse the course of this once great nation. You know like the economy, the environment, war and occupation, unemployment,...etc. I remember a few months ago these issues were kinda being broached but alas no more. I mean does McCain even have a fucking health care plan? We all know he doesn't know shit about the economy.

Many people have to told me to be patient and wait for the general election and then we'll see the real politics start. I don't see it that way. I see this election season getting worse before it gets any better. I see a continuing of the American Idolization of democracy. Please text us your vote at....sigh.

None of the three candidates really has a plan to get us back in order. America is shattered like Humpty Dumpty and there are not enough of the king's men to put us back together again. I know I have been reduced to comparing our country to children's stories but I think it's poignant. Until we as a nation begin to truly face our major problems then we are stuck in this downward spiral. Hunter was right all along. If you look back and squint really hard you can almost see the high water mark.

As long as there is a massive divide between the owners of society and the rest of us then our system will stay broken. As long as corporations have monetary and political control over us then we will continue to be pawns. As long as we allow fanatical, ideological religious nuts into our government then we will forever be a nation of lemmings. As long as we keep "voting" for the same few candidates that they throw at us whether we believe in them or not then we will cease to be a democracy.

Here's where I am supposed to call out for revolt. Dissent is the only true form of patriotism. All men must stir and all that stuff. I wish I could but I think the we have traveled too far down this sick and twisted path to turn around and find our way back. No trail of breadcrumbs has been left by the neocons and the religious right. We were meant to be led into the dark woods and left on our own. Will we ever find a new and greener pasture?

No more Mr. Nice Guy...

Hillary Clinton MUST go away immediately! There I said it. The last 2 weeks have been a complete and utter mind bend for those of us who pay way too much attention to politics. What strategy has Clinton NOT tried? None of it sticks to Barack. He's untouchable when it comes to dirty politics. There is no dirt to be dug up on him. This is why he is so attractive to your average American. They are sick of corruption and cronyism and having had to endure Bush/Cheney for 8 years they can smell a rat a mile away.

The Democratic voters have smelled a rat and they have spoken. Except the rat will not go away and die. Instead, the rat has declared victory. The rat put her name on the ballot in Michigan and now wants that to count. The rat went to Florida for a "victory" speech when she shouldn't have and now wants that to count. The rat accuses Barack Obama of not being prepared from day one to answer a phone. The rat now wants Obama to be her VP! If he's not experienced enough for the presidency then how in the hell is he prepared to be "a heartbeat" away from the presidency??

Mathematically the rat cannot win enough delegates at large to secure the nomination. This creature is all too aware that the party has spoken. She doesn't care. The rat is not here for you or I folks. The rat is not here for democracy or for America. The rat is here for herself and herself alone. It is my humble opinion that if the rat gets the nomination for the Democratic party and wins in November that this country will be worse off than with 4 years of McCain. There I said it. I need a drink.

Can We?

While pondering the three words helping to fuel Barack Obama's run toward the Democratic nomination, Yes We Can, I thought it would be helpful to look at another movement that has relied on these same trio of words. That movement is the anti-children's asthma campaign that can be found at:

http://www.communityhealthworks.org/yeswecan/

In the five minutes I have I was unable to find any statistics pertaining to this breath related menace. It is however worth asking what will happen first, the eradication of asthma in our young or the election of Barack H. Obama to the White House?

More soon...

Yes We Can

Definitely the coolest and most inspiring thing to come out of this election season so far:
