Why are people that were criticizing me for "not being patriotic" several years back (when I supported international law for not wanting to invade a sovereign state) now talking to me about seceding from the Union?

because all bets are off now that there's a kellered guy in the White House.
Because it's okay to be unpatriotic so long as you're a Republican. When you speak of treasonous things like secession and do so as a Republican, that means you're speaking of patriotic treason.
See, everything's patriotic when Republicans speak of or engage in an action--iike patriotic racism, patriotic sexism, patriotic treason, patriotic torture, patriotic illegal wars.
