Monica Spewinsky, Portapotty Bush, Joe the Spy, Sara Phalin and the New Republic

Yay. The balance of power has shifted to the Dems again. But why did they lose power in the first place? From 1991 to 2000, the U.S. experienced 37 quarters of economic expansion. The longest period of expansion on record. Why wasn't that enough to maintain the power?

Oh yeah. I remember now. It was the dress. The blue one with the big white stain. The one once worn by a Republican spy who was very clever and crafty with Bill and little Billy. If it wasn't for that dirty rag surfacing from the depths of the Republihell party, Bill would have gotten away with ADULTERY. The public thought, could there be anything worse? There was no way whatsoever that any self respecting Republican could bring himself to vote for Slick Willy's partner Gore after that stunt. No way, no how. Not even if it meant extending the longest period of expansion on record.

By the time the infamous presidential election of 2000 came along, we were a very divided nation. Portapotty Bush ran a dirty campaign. Al Gore appeared more robot than man to the public. It was a very very close election, but Al Gore won. He did it. The prosperity would continue. But wait. More espionage. There were hanging chads, pregnant chads, and other funky chads in Florida. And in the end Portapotty Bush was inaugurated president of the United States of America. The Repblicans out spied the Democrats and they regained power of the most powerful nation on Earth. Of course they had another spy in place, just in case Jeb couldn't come through for his brother. His name is Joe the Spy, AKA Joe Lieberman.

If you take the frost (ber) out of Joe's name, his true identity appears, Joe Lie-Man. Imagine if Joe the Spy had gotten into the white house. I know it's a crazy thought. But just as crazy, this traitor openly supported John McTurd, spread lies about Barack Obama, hoped to become McTurd's running mate, and still holds subpoena power to investigate the Obama administration as chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. McTurd has fully outed Joe the Spy as his hero Cheney had done to one of our CIA operatives. We must strip Joe the Spy from his leadership positions within the Democratic party.

Electing Obama was a huge step for our nation, but there is still a lot of work to do. It is crazy that the Portapotty Bush Administration has not received any real consequences for their heinous crimes against our country, the world, and humanity as a whole. But I guess our electorate does not think that their acts are as bad as lying about adultery. Here are some of the things that we know so far and the current administration has never been impeached. The administration lied about ousting one of our CIA's operatives, mislead the nation to rally support for an unjustified war, implemented a domestic spy program, completely deregulated corporate America, rose our national debt to almost 11 trillion dollars. I'll stop here because there are just so many things. You get the idea. The only good thing that has come out of this is that Sarah Phalin is the new face of the Republihell party.

PSSSST...He's Black

I am a white guy. I'm not bragging or complaining, I'm just saying I'm white. One thing that I have noticed consistently over the years is that white people try to conceal when they use the descriptive term "black" when talking about black people. It goes like this. A white person tells a story and gets to the part to describe a black person. At this time White Person forms an L with his hand and places it along side his mouth, thumb along bottom of chin and forefinger pointing up along cheek. It is now safe for White Person to say "black" in a very soft voice. White Person's bigoted actions do not go unnoticed. Black Person notices the gesture of White Person's secret pose and feels the heavy eyes glancing in his direction. Of course White Person says, "Don't Look", which makes the recipient look more. This is going to surprise some of you, Black People Know they are Black! It's not a secret. I imagine that it is not offensive to black people to be referred to as black but is very offensive to hear people say "black" as though it's a bad word.

Democrats and Republicans have come across the aisle in mass bipartisanship agreement in regards to George W. Bush being one of the worst, if not thee worst, president of all times. They agree that W. has the Midas Touch in reverse. Everything the guy does turns to portapotty shit. It can't be flushed. It piles up. It smells really really bad. John McCain brags about having agreed with Portapotty Bush more than most of his Republican colleagues.

On the other hand, Obama is thoughtful, rational, and reasonable in his thought, ideas, and clear opposition of what Portapotty Bush has done to our country. So why isn't Obama further ahead in the polls?

In the primaries when the Clintons bashed Obama for his relationship with his reverend, Obama addressed the ongoing race tensions and unequalities in our country brilliantly. He delivered the most powerful civil rights speech of my lifetime (Sadly, Dr. King was assassinated before I was born.) Obama has already made major strides in getting people talking about major issues that plague our nation, such as negative race relations. Obama is opening people's minds to accept great ideas that will move our country forward positively across the board. I don't expect neo-nazis to embrace him, but all of them would benefit from his leadership. These extremists rather be raped by greedy white control than prosper under sound, fair, black leadership.

The Wounded GOP Ticket Died Today

John McCain

My friends, today the maverick himself ousted many of his prime supporters by defending Obama. His constituents booed him!

Sarah Palin

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner.

My favorite part happens 51 seconds in. A woman accuses Obama of being an Arab she can't trust. McCain shakes his head and says, "No Ma'am." and takes the microphone away from her. How many points will the McCain/Palin ticket lose from today's news. Five? More?

John McCain on the Bailout

Jon Stewart compares John McCain to Harry Potter's Gollum. They talk alike, they look alike, their cousins identical cousins....

An Alternate Bailout

This is a great idea being circulated via email.

I’m against the $700,000,000,000.00 bailout of our pathetic financial institutions

Instead, I’m in favor of giving $700,000,000,000 to
America in

a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,00 0,000

bonafide adults in the
U.S.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman

and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $700 billon that equals $3,500,000.00 .

My plan is to give $3,500,000 to every person 18+ as a

We Deserve It Divided.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.

So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $1,050,000 in taxes.

That sends $210,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $2,450,00.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife has $4,900,000.00.

What would you do w ith $2,450,000 to $4,900,000 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.

Buy that vacation home you have always dreamed of (or 2 or 3)

Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads

Put away money for college – it’ll be there

Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.

Buy a new car (or 2 or 3) – create jobs

Invest in the market – capital drives growth

If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it...instead of trickling out

a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive.

If we’re going to do an $700 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!

Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.”

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party !

How do you spell Economic Boom?

And remember, this plan only really costs $489.5 Billion because $210.5 Billion is returned

instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ga Ga Stupid Over Palin! Family Values?

Sarah Palin has been in the spotlight for several weeks now. A lot of people are still completely ga ga stupid over her even though fact finders have proven that she has lied in regards to several of her platforms. I have a friend who told me that she really likes Palin. When I asked her what she likes about the Alaska governor, she replied, "I don't know, there's just something I like about her." I find it completely unacceptable and mind boggling that a person can fall in love with a candidate with out identifying a reason for such.

On the other hand, my wife works with some Palin supporters who have identified what they do like about Palin. One of her colleugues likes that Palin changed her mind about the "bridge to nowhere." According to this woman, it shows that Palin is a lot like her because she also changes her mind sometimes. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know (everybody who appreciates facts knows and accepts) that this is not a matter of changing one's mind.

Another one of my wife's colleugues (the one who called my wife a sexist a couple weeks ago) said that Palin's minor daughter being pregnant does not reflect Palin negatively because a lot of American families deal with that same issue. Well, well, well so much for family values, right? Both Mr. and Mrs. Palin work full time, and they have five children. I guess they hire people to raise their kids. I guess if teenage pregnancy was the goal then they certainly succeded. I realize that this is a huge social problem that plagues many families; however, education and parent involvment (in their own kids' lives) seems like the most logical course of action here, not to just say, "It happens to a lot of families, so therefore, it must be great." And what's the Palin's position? They want to push their daughter into teenage marriage to the guy who might be her baby daddy. Yeah, might be, according to Levis' (not to be confused with the gtreat jean company) myspace page which was shown on all the News stations he reported, "I am not having an F'ing baby."

And then there's her running mate John McCain. His family values are so horrendous that he had an extra marital affair, divorced his wife, and then married his mistress. You know what they say, "Once a cheater, always a cheater." The fact finders have certainly uncovered a lot of Johnny's cheats as he continues to lie to the public every time he opens his mouth, my friends.

Then there's Barack Obama on the other ticket. Barrack works a lot, and his wife works too. Surprisingly, Mrs. Obama cut back her work hours because she has two children to raise. The ga ga stupid Palin supporters must be outraged by this sexist act demonstrated by Mrs. Obama. Mrs. Obama was interviewed this weekend. When asked if she thought that it was bad that Sarah Palin is running for VP with such young children, Obama answered, "No, people have to decide what their priorities are."

Family values and priorities in America?

“McCain, Palin value all life”

Here is a great letter that my brother sent to the editor of his local paper.

I agree with the author of Friday’s letter “McCain, Palin value all life”. I, too, think that their value of life is commendable. In fairness, though, I cannot recall any pro-choice individual espousing the opinion that anyone should be aborted; rather such a decision should be the choice of the individual, not the government. Also in fairness, McCain’s and Palin’s position on the value of life should be more clearly defined.

Not only are neither McCain nor Palin vegetarians, but Palin is an active hunter and as governor has offered incentives for people to kill wolves. This amends the position to the value of all human life. McCain has been a supporter of the Iraq war from the beginning and Palin recently suggested that fighting the Iraq war was doing God’s work. During this war, thousands of American soldiers and tens of thousands of Iraqi men, women, and children have been killed. McCain has also rather surprisingly voted consistently against veteran's rights. So the statement needs to be further amended to “McCain and Palin value all American non-military life”.

Further, both Alaska and Arizona have the death penalty. While the Republican leadership, with McCain leading the charge, was all over the hurricane that overlapped their convention, they are nowhere to be seen in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. Neither McCain nor Palin has been known to champion the rights or protection of children in abusive homes.

McCain’s and Palin’s exact position, then, seems to be, “McCain and Palin support all American non-military life, so long as that individual is of voting age and has not been found guilty of a crime and is not threatened by a natural disaster”. Or maybe we can simplify that mouthful and just say that, “McCain and Palin value all American pre-natal life; everyone else is on their own”. It’s beautiful, really.

I am an Idiot

Dang, I'm dumb. I haven't been living within my means. I have a mortgage. Even dumber, I can afford my monthly payments. I should have gotten more house. Uncle Sam would help me and the stank ass company that gave me the bad loan.

So this week our glorious country works towards the half trillion dollar bailout. Gonna save our financial institutions. Gonna save our economy. Gonna save our country. Gonna write another humongous blank check. Gonna finally boost our gross national debt over 10 trillion dollars!

The thing that really pisses me off the most is how the elitist upper crust has screwed us, our children, and our great (to the 20th power) grand children. These crooks were so greedy that stealing all of our country's current wealth was not enough. They figured out how to rape our entire economy for decades to come, and they are charging us tax payers with the bill (Isn't that how Palin handles rape too?) Big business took control of all three branches of our government. Remember the big corporate collapses of the early George W. Bush years? Remember W.'s tough talk about holding corporate big wigs accountable? Remember how he pardoned his corporate buddies? Remember how the administration spent more money then any other administration in the history of our country? W. will take care of his pals once again. CEO's and other upper administration folks will be receiving nice cushy severance packages. Aren't you happy that we get to help these criminals keep their multiple mansions?

I really do understand why we must bail out our corporations. I understand the bipartisan effort to save our economy. But let's do it right. Let's put these terrorists in prison. Put W. and party, and the other corporate terrorists in Guantanamo Bay. We can work on prosecuting them after we save our country.

I have the TV on in the background as I type this. A new McCain ad just aired. McCain claims to have taken on tougher guys then our corporations before. He is completely BONKERS!

A letter from someone who has known Sarah Palin since 1992

This is an email circulating that exposes Palin.

ABOUT SARAH PALIN

I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. I have known Sarah since 1992.Everyone here knows Sarah, so it is nothing special to say we are on afirst-name basis. Our children have attended the same schools. Herfather was my child’s favorite substitute teacher. I also am on afirst name basis with her parents and mother-in-law. I attended moreCity Council meetings during her administration than about 99% of theresidents of the city.

She is enormously popular; in every way she’s like the most populargirl in middle school. Even men who think she is a poor choice andwon’t vote for her can’t quit smiling when talking about her becauseshe is a “babe”.

It is astonishing and almost scary how well she can keep a secret. Shekept her most recent pregnancy a secret from her children and parentsfor seven months.
She is “pro-life”. She recently gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby. There is no cover-up involved, here; Trig is her baby.

She is energetic and hardworking. She regularly worked out at the gym.
She is savvy. She doesn’t take positions; she just “puts things outthere” and if they prove to be popular, then she takes credit.

Her husband works a union job on the North Slope for BP and is achampion snowmobile racer. Todd Palin’s kind of job is highlysought-after because of the schedule and high pay. He arranges hiswork schedule so he can fish for salmon in Bristol Bay for a month orso in summer, but by no stretch of the imagination is fishing theirmajor source of income. Nor has her life-style ever been anythinglike that of native Alaskans.

Sarah and her whole family are avid hunters. She’s smart.

Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000(at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about670,000 residents.
During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of runningthis small city was turned over to an administrator. She had beenpushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she hadgotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which hadgiven rise to a recall campaign.

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by theCity increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation(1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased aregressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that shepromoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than theybenefited residents.

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administrationweren’t enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowedmoney was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left itwith indebtedness of over $22 million. What did Mayor Palin encouragethe voters to borrow money for? Was it the infrastructure that she saidshe supported? The sewage treatment plant that the city lacked? or anew library? No. $1m for a park. $15m-plus for construction of amulti-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a pieceof property that the City didn’t even have clear title to, that wasstill in litigation 7 yrs later–to the delight of the lawyersinvolved! The sports complex itself is a nice addition to thecommunity but a huge money pit, not the profit-generator she claimed itwould be. She also supported bonds for $5.5m for road projects thatcould have been done in 5-7 yrs without any borrowing.

While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her officeredecorated more than once.

These are small numbers, but Wasilla is a very small city.

As an oil producer, the high price of oil has created a budget surplusin Alaska. Rather than invest this surplus in technology that willmake us energy independent and increase efficiency, as Governor sheproposed distribution of this surplus to every individual in the state.
In this time of record state revenues and budget surpluses, sherecommended that the state borrow/bond for road projects, even whileshe proposed distribution of surplus state revenues: spend today’ssurplus, borrow for needs.

She’s not very tolerant of divergent opinions or open to outside ideasor compromise. As Mayor, she fought ideas that weren’t generated byher or her staff. Ideas weren’t evaluated on their merits, but on thebasis of who proposed them.

While Sarah was Mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respectedCity Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing fromthe library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residentsrallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin’sattempt at out-and-out censorship, so Palin backed down and withdrewher termination letter. People who fought her attempt to oust theLibrarian are on her enemies list to this day.
Sarah complained about the “old boy’s club” when she first ran forMayor, so what did she bring Wasilla? A new set of “old boys”. Palinfired most of the experienced staff she inherited. At the City and asGovernor she hired or elevated new, inexperienced, obscure people, creating a staff totally dependent on her for their jobs and eternallygrateful and fiercely loyal–loyal to the point of abusing their powerto further her personal agenda, as she has acknowledged happened in thecase of pressuring the State’s top cop (see below).

As Mayor, Sarah fired Wasilla’s Police Chief because he “intimidated”her, she told the press. As Governor, her recent firing of Alaska’s topcop has the ring of familiarity about it. He served at her pleasureand she had every legal right to fire him, but it’s pretty clear thatan important factor in her decision to fire him was because he wouldn’tfire her sister’s ex-husband, a State Trooper. Under investigationfor abuse of power, she has had to admit that more than 2 dozencontacts were made between her staff and family to the person that shelater fired, pressuring him to fire her ex-brother-in-law. She tried toreplace the man she fired with a man who she knew had been reprimandedfor sexual harassment; when this caused a public furor, she withdrewher support.

She has bitten the hand of every person who extended theirs to her inhelp. The City Council person who personally escorted her around townintroducing her to voters when she first ran for Wasilla City Councilbecame one of her first targets when she was later elected Mayor. Sheabruptly fired her loyal City Administrator; even people who didn’tlike the guy were stunned by this ruthlessness.

Fear of retribution has kept all of these people from saying anythingpublicly about her.
When then-Governor Murkowski was handing out political plums, Sarah gotthe best, Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission: oneof the few jobs not in Juneau and one of the best paid. She had nobackground in oil & gas issues. Within months of scoring this greatjob which paid $122,400/yr, she was complaining in the press about thehigh salary. I was told that she hated that job: the commute, thestructured hours, the work. Sarah became aware that a member of thisCommission (who was also the State Chair of the Republican Party)engaged in unethical behavior on the job. In a gutsy move which someundoubtedly cautioned her could be political suicide, Sarah solved allher problems in one fell swoop: got out of the job she hated andgarnered gobs of media attention as the patron saint of ethics and as agutsy fighter against the “old boys’ club” when she dramatically quit, exposing this man’s ethics violations (for which he was fined).

As Mayor, she had her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork fromSenator Ted Stevens. Lately, she has castigated his pork-barrelpolitics and publicly humiliated him. She only opposed the “bridge tonowhere” after it became clear that it would be unwise not to.
As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budgetguidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoingprojects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislativeaction restored most of these projects–which had been vetoed simplybecause she was not aware of their importance–but with the unobservantshe had gained a reputation as “anti-pork”.

She is solidly Republican: no political maverick. The State partyleaders hate her because she has bit them in the back and humiliatedthem. Other members of the party object to her self-description as afiscal conservative.

Around Wasilla there are people who went to high school with Sarah. They call her “Sarah Barracuda” because of her unbridled ambition andpredatory ruthlessness. Before she became so powerful, very uglystories circulated around town about shenanigans she pulled to be madepoint guard on the high school basketball team. When Sarah’smother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community andexperienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her.

As Governor, she stepped outside of the box and put together of packageof legislation known as “AGIA” that forced the oil companies to marchto the beat of her drum.
Like most Alaskans, she favors drilling in the Arctic National WildlifeRefuge. She has questioned if the loss of sea ice is linked toglobal warming. She campaigned “as a private citizen” against a stateinitiaitive that would have either a) protected salmon streams frompollution from mines, or b) tied up in the courts all mining in thestate (depending on who you listen to). She has pushed the State’slawsuit against the Dept. of the Interior’s decision to list polarbears as threatened species.

McCain is the oldest person to ever run for President; Sarah will be aheartbeat away from being President.

There has to be literally millions of Americans who are moreknowledgeable and experienced than she. However, there’s a lot of people who have underestimated her and areregretting it.
CLAIM VS FACT
•“Hockey mom”: true for a few years•“PTA mom”: true years ago when her first-born was in elementaryschool, not since
•“NRA supporter”: absolutely true•social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a billthat would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships(said she did this because it was unconsitutional).
•pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor topromote it.
•“Pro-life”: mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down’s syndrome babyBUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-lifelegislation
•“Experienced”: Some high schools have more students than Wasilla hasresidents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-onsupervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a cityadministrator to run town of about 5,000.
•political maverick: not at all•gutsy: absolutely!•open & transparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good atexplaining actions.•has a developed philosophy of public policy: no
•”a Greenie”: no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box storesand disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR.
•fiscal conservative: not by my definition!
•pro-infrastructure: No. Promoted a sports complex and park in a citywithout a sewage treatment plant or storm drainage system. Builtstreets to early 20th century standards.
•pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden onresidents
•pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of citygovernment in Wasilla’s history.
•pro-labor/pro-union. No. Just because her husband works uniondoesn’t make her pro-labor. I have seen nothing to support any claimthat she is pro-labor/pro-union.

WHY AM I WRITING THIS?

First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informedvoter. I am a voter registrar. For 10 years I put on student votingprograms in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny +Alaska), you will find references to my participation in localgovernment, education, and PTA/parent organizations.

Secondly, I’ve always operated in the belief that “Bad things happenwhen good people stay silent”. Few people know as much as I do becausefew have gone to as many City Council meetings.

Third, I am just a housewife. I don’t have a job she can bump me outof. I don’t belong to any organization that she can hurt. But, I am nofool; she is immensely popular here, and it is likely that this willcost me somehow in the future: that’s life.

Fourth, she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah’sattempt at censorship.
Fifth, I looked around and realized that everybody else was afraid tosay anything because they were somehow vulnerable.

CAVEATS
I am not a statistician. I developed the numbers for the increase inspending & taxation 2 years ago (when Palin was running for Governor)from information supplied to me by the Finance Director of the City ofWasilla, and I can’t recall exactly what I adjusted for: did I adjustfor inflation? for population increases? Right now, it is impossiblefor a private person to get any info out of City Hall–they areswamped. So I can’t verify my numbers.

You may have noticed that there are various numbers circulating for thepopulation of Wasilla, ranging from my “about 5,000″, up to 9,000. Theday Palin’s selection was announced a city official told me that thecurrent population is about 7,000. The official 2000 census count was5,460. I have used about 5,000 because Palin was Mayor from 1996 to2002, and the city was growing rapidly in the mid-90’s.

Bush, McCain, and the rest of the GOP sheep rape and plunder the world.

The sheep go along with mass murder for personal gain, stupidity, or both. The prolife hypocrisy not only supports but perpetuates mass murder of those that have left the comfort of the womb. Pursuit of personal riches has become the norm as democracy has been eroded. Our leaders preach for human rights around the world as they commit the most horrific acts ever.

Where did the oil go?

We invaded Iraq for their wealth of oil. Such a supply should have brought our prices down. How come they have risen more in the last eight years then ever before? We have been told that the oil supply has dwindled so much in the last eight years that now our all mighty leader has lifted sanctions on drilling in our off-shore wild life sanctuaries. Might it have anything to do with oil companies running our government? Remember when the idea of the democratic government was to look out for the citizens? Yeah, I barely remember either. The evolution of the free market society continues to merge the private and public sectors into one beast. It was the natural course. It had to happen this way. The goal of the corporation is to make money. Corporate boards must make decisions to maximize revenues. Nothing else matters. So, the oil companies continue to report record profits every quarter while our economy drowns. We were bamboozled into going to war with Iraq and now they are doing it to us again by proposing to rape our sovereign lands. What will the collateral damage be? Who benefits from such actions? How long will the benefits last? Will the pros even come close to the cons? How can people believe McCain’s energy policy intentions?

McCain Supports Draft

I can think of no other reason why he would jeopardize the health and proliferation of our all-volunteer military service. Dems and Republitards alike are lashing out at the crazy old coot for opposing a vets college aid bill that would restore benefits to the level of those given to WWII vets. Silly bastard doesn't know which way he's facing now, does he?

Obama Fires Back at Bush and McCain

Yesterday, I said that Obama needs to take this appeasement nonsense and use it to his advantage. He needs to light a fire under the GOP's giant ass.

Today he did just that.

Obama S.D. Press Conference Mastery

Just a heads up...Sen. Obama is currently speaking to the press (11:30 pst) so if you are by a tube, tune in. He is looking very "presidential" and has offered to take McCain on anytime and anywhere to discuss foreign policy, of which Obama clearly has a good grasp. As I have heard mentioned before, if we selected our candidates on foreign policy experience alone, then Dick Cheney would be the obvious choice. Quality trumps quantity, and I when I think McCain, I don't think quality...

Note: We will be live blogging the Oregon and Kentucky primary all day and night this Tuesday.

Behind Enemy Lines:

For reasons I am too frightened to contemplate, I am on John McCain's email list. I got his email today and was about to send it to my spam box, but after hearing his speech this morning, I thought I would give it a look. I am going to analyze this with my comments in parenthetical italics. It reads as follows:

My Friends (I am not your friend you crusty goblin),
We are all aware that next January, the political leadership of the United States will change significantly when a new president is sworn into our nation's highest elected office. It is important that the candidates who seek to lead our country after President Bush define their objectives and what they plan to achieve not with vague language but with clarity.

(I agree with this so far. Good work senator! I fear the other shoe is about to...)

What I want to do is take a little time to describe what I hope to have achieved at the end of my first term as president. I cannot guarantee I will have achieved these things, but I am presumptuous enough to think I would be a good president.

(I am not entirly sure I know what this even means, and quite frankly, I think I will sleep better for it. I think he is saying he will win the election, perhaps get nothing done, yet still be a good president? )

By January 2013, at the end of my first term as president, America has welcomed home most of the servicemen and women who have sacrificed terribly so that America might be secure in her freedom. The Iraq War has been won and Iraq is a functioning democracy. The threat from a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan has been greatly reduced but not eliminated and there has not been a major terrorist attack in the United States since September 11, 2001.

(This is a fantasy. I can't summerize it any better than this. When I, as a 14 year old boy used to project my life 4 years into the future, it usually consisted of me being a rock star and addored by millions of slutty women that loved me for my money and my metal. McCain is outlining his dreams. This is a therapy session, not a forieng policy outline.)

The United States has experienced several years of robust economic growth and Americans again have confidence in their economic future. Congress has lowered taxes and passed fundamental tax reform offering a choice in how taxes are filed. Americans, who through no fault of their own, lost jobs in the global economy they once believed were theirs for life, are assisted by reformed unemployment insurance and worker retraining programs.

(Does he think he is a super hero?)

Public education in the United States is much improved and test scores and graduation rates are rising everywhere in the country. Health care has become more accessible to more Americans than at any other time in history.
The United States is well on the way to independence from foreign sources of oil; progress that has not only begun to alleviate the environmental threat posed from climate change, but has greatly improved our security as well.

(This is starting to remind me of the story that George tells Lenny at the end of the book "Of Mice and Men" just before he shots him in the back.)

Scores of judges have been confirmed to the federal district and appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, who understand that they were not sent there to write our laws but to enforce them.

(This is perhaps the worst sentence I have ever read. What he is really saying is he will appoint judges who will rule the way he wants them to rule, which by the way would make impossible the majority of the freedom and prosperity he has outlined above, but I digress.)

Voluntary national service has grown in popularity in part because of the educational benefits used as incentives, as well as frequent appeals from the bully pulpit of the White House, but mostly because the young Americans understand that true happiness is much greater than the pursuit of pleasure, and can only be found by serving causes greater than self-interest.

(Umm, how can a father with children in their 20's not understand that a probable majority of this country's youth thinks that sacrifice is having to turn off their cell phone before a college class that they don't want to attend./?- I am not sure which puncuation to use as that sentence was a question/statement hybrid...)

This is the progress I want us to achieve during my presidency.

(If any of it were real I would want it too...)

These are the changes I am running for president to make. I want to leave office knowing that America is safer, freer and wealthier than when I was elected.

There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences, but it should remain an argument among friends; each of us struggling to hear our conscience, and heed its demands. Each of us, despite our differences, united in our great cause and respectful of the goodness in each other. That is how most Americans treat each other. And it is how they want the people they elect to office to treat each other.

We cannot again leave our problems for another unluckier generation of Americans to fix after they have become even harder to solve. I'm not interested in partisanship that serves no other purpose than to gain a temporary advantage over our opponents. We are all compatriots. We are fellow Americans. I intend to prove myself worthy of the office, of our country and of your respect. I won't judge myself by how many elections I've won. I won't spend one hour of my presidency worrying more about my re-election than keeping my promises to the American people.

And now, I call on you to do your part in making this vision a reality. I am not presumptuous enough to think that I will be elected our next president without your help, and I humbly ask you today to make a contribution to my campaign of any amount to ensure my campaign is fully funded and able to take my message and vision directly to every American voter.

Sincerely,

John McCain

(He then begs for spare change)

P.S. There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences between the candidates. We will argue about them, as we should. If I am elected president, I will work with anyone who sincerely wants to get this country moving again. But I must be elected in November to do this, and that is why I ask that you join me by making a financial contribution so that my campaign can be fully funded to win in November. Thank you.

(Please do not send this man money. Please send him a pillow, he clearly needs a nap...)

Huckabee Wins West Virginia!!!!

I have been saying since last week that Sen. Clinton is the Democratic Mike Huckabee. Well, it looks like that is true in more ways than one:

Huckabee567
52%
18 Winner
Romney52147%0
McCain121%0
Paul00%0
Giuliani00%0

This means nothing in terms of the Republican primary, much like the Clinton win means nothing in terms of the Democratic primary.

McCain, Clinton, Sponges, and More!!!

I sat down to write about a disturbing press event John McCain was holding in Arizona, whereby he uttered, in regards to illegal immigration, that all laws should be enforced to the fullest extent possible. I immediately remembered having once read about a federal ban on the importation of tiny sponges. Then I thought, gosh, if Hillary gets her way and he becomes president, I really hope this is where he puts his energy because a war on sponges would be cheaper and less catastrophic than a war with Iran.

But I digress, for I got taken off course when I read an update to a story that previously broke yesterday on the HuffPo that Sen. Machiavelli is going to do everything in her "power" to break the Democratic Party rules and have the votes counted from the renegade territories of Michigan and Florida:

There are a lot of "ifs'' in the "nuclear option'' that Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign could consider for claiming her party's nomination, the way Tom Edsall tells it:

If Clinton does well or outright wins in Indiana and/or North Carolina this week, if her argument for electability takes hold and if enough party activists are willing to withstand the revolt that would ensue, Clinton could force a vote of the party's bylaws committee to seat the disputed, Clinton-rich delegations of Florida and Michigan and overtake Barack Obama's delegate lead.

The Clinton campaign, however, maintains that it has no "secret plan,'' and has posted on its Web-site...

Then today, they replied:

The Clinton campaign has been vocal in stating that the votes of 2.5 million people must be respected. Hardly a day goes by when a Clinton official doesn't publicly declare that the votes of Michigan and Florida count and that the delegations from those states should be seated.

DNC members from Michigan and Florida have filed challenges with the DNC to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations. The process being followed to adjudicate these challenges is completely consistent with the DNC rules. The Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) is the DNC body charged with dealing with these challenges until the 56th day before the convention, and its process is public and transparent.

How can such old news be so disturbing? Its funny, as I typed that, I wondered if that can be read as being in reference to this story, or to the Clintons themselves... Either way, her destructive strategy, dubbed by some as the Nuclear Option, is another example, like her vote for War in Iraq (it was a vote for war) of her confirmed destructive tendencies. Let us not forget her own words:

I am reminded of something her teacher once said:

A prince never lacks legitimate reasons to break his promise. Niccolo Machiavelli

The same could also be true of an aspiring Queen...

John Hagee and John McCain

Frank Rich of the New York Times has written a great piece about the hypocrisy of the Rev. Wright situation. He implies, correctly, that had Wright (been white) and said equally outrageous things that didn't play on white fear of black people it would have gotten little notice. Take the case in point of the a preacher that is a far greater and whiter lunatic than Wright.

John Hagee, (seen right) who would not have ever existed had the right people always been in charge, was actively sought out by McCain for an endorsement. Rich explains:

BORED by those endless replays of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright? If so, go directly to YouTube, search for “John Hagee Roman Church Hitler,” and be recharged by a fresh jolt of clerical jive.

What you’ll find is a white televangelist, the Rev. John Hagee, lecturing in front of an enormous diorama. Wielding a pointer, he pokes at the image of a woman with Pamela Anderson-sized breasts, her hand raising a golden chalice. The woman is “the Great Whore,” Mr. Hagee explains, and she is drinking “the blood of the Jewish people.” That’s because the Great Whore represents “the Roman Church,” which, in his view, has thirsted for Jewish blood throughout history, from the Crusades to the Holocaust.

Mr. Hagee is not a fringe kook but the pastor of a Texas megachurch. On Feb. 27, he stood with John McCain and endorsed him over the religious conservatives’ favorite, Mike Huckabee, who was then still in the race...

Mr. McCain says he does not endorse any of Mr. Hagee’s calumnies, any more than Barack Obama endorses Mr. Wright’s. But those who try to give Mr. McCain a pass for his embrace of a problematic preacher have a thin case. It boils down to this: Mr. McCain was not a parishioner for 20 years at Mr. Hagee’s church.

That defense implies, incorrectly, that Mr. McCain was a passive recipient of this bigot’s endorsement. In fact, by his own account, Mr. McCain sought out Mr. Hagee, who is perhaps best known for trying to drum up a pre-emptiveholy war” with Iran. (This preacher’s rantings may tell us more about Mr. McCain’s policy views than Mr. Wright’s tell us about Mr. Obama’s.) Even after Mr. Hagee’s Catholic bashing bubbled up in the mainstream media, Mr. McCain still did not reject and denounce him, as Mr. Obama did an unsolicited endorser, Louis Farrakhan, at the urging of Tim Russert and Hillary Clinton. Mr. McCain instead told George Stephanopoulos two Sundays ago that while he condemns any “anti-anything” remarks by Mr. Hagee, he is still “glad to have his endorsement.

In addition to the above mentioned dysfunctions, I did a search and found out that he also claims that Jews did not reject Jesus as the Messiah, which means that according to him Jews are actually Christians.

If you are not at least as disturbed by the following video as you are by anything Rev. Wright has said, you are undoubtedly a close minded and racist xenophobe that probably listens to Sean Hannity more than you read and hates everything the Beatles did after Rubber Soul:

Amongst other things, the first one dollar bill was not produced under Washington, it was produced under Lincoln, who fought a war against this bastard's ancestors.
