Isolated Sleep Paralysis and John McCain

I just woke up (I think) from a terrible series of dreams where I kept trying to wake up and kept falling down when I did. To be expected, these dream also contained a few frames where I was sitting in a bomber with a student flying over Baghdad. There was nothing pleasant about any of it and I am not better for the experience, at least not in the short term. I am off today and could go back to sleep, but I am afraid to do so, thus I feel like I am trapped in any of the Nightmare on Elm Street films. According to Friedman, S. & Paradis, C. (2002) in their Panic disorder in African-Americans: Symptomatology and Isolated Sleep Paralysis, via Wikipedia, this phenomena is referred to by some in the African American community as the "witch riding your back."

Fortunately I survived (I think) this unpleasant experience. Unfortunately when I woke up I turned on the tube, and when I did, I saw John McCain speaking in a depressing way on a variety of topics. He spoke about his disdain for civil liberties and his Orwellian fantasies by pledging his undying loyalty to spying on all citizens at all times. Of course I am exaggerating, but only slightly, and ever so slightly at that. He also wants very strict sanctions on Iran. Clearly he likes the way they worked with Cuba or Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

I was too tired, and still am, to properly report on his exact words and I have been unable to find them on the Internets. As a matter of fact, anyone wanting to maintain good mental health should avoid the video or transcripts at all costs. As a matter of fact, I don't think McCain translates very well to television or video. He is a relic, and represents the last candidate from the silent radio era.

Lastly, I wanted to note on the public record the nausea inducing effects of Contessa Brewer from MSNBC. She is the voice of the shallow and meek minded.

Are you saying such sanctions won't work? Anyone that old has seen a hell of a lot and therefore knows what he's talking about.

Oh, you're talking about McCain. Yeah, it's just incoherent babble. Go back to sleep.
