Rush Limbaugh is a Riot...

We've all read about how drug addict talk radio host Rush Limbaugh sang "I'm dreaming of riots in Denver" to the tune of "White Christmas" recently. We all know what a magnificent bastard he truly is deep down. How can they fire Randi Rhodes for calling Clinton a "fucking whore" and this purveyor of hate can continue his lunatic rants? Rush is a special needs person who we all know can't be taken seriously, it's not like he has any listeners...er, jeez there are a lot of stupid people out there.

For my Friday "news dump" story I give you this quote from fat boy Limbaugh:

"We do, hopefully, the right thing for the sake of this country. We're the only one in charge of our affairs. We don't farm out our defense if we elect Democrats ... and riots in Denver, at the Democratic Convention will see to it we don't elect Democrats. And that's the best damn thing that can happen to this country, as far as I can think," Limbaugh said.
(my emphasis)

Now if that isn't calling for an uprising from the far right, I don't know what is people. For someone who cares for "the sake of this country" to think the "best damn" thing that can happen is for riots at the Democratic Convention is just mind blowing. These people don't care about our country. They only care about power and themselves, period. My head hasn't been able to process the entire scope of what this lunatic is preaching. As bad as the quotes have been from the comedian Rush, this takes the cake in my book:

"There won't be riots at our convention," Limbaugh said of the Republican National Convention. "We don't riot. We don't burn our cars. We don't burn down our houses. We don't kill our children. We don't do half the things the American left does."

Try and find some sanity in that statement. I dare you! He's basically portraying the left in America as some godless heathen army of mutants that burns everything in site that it doesn't agree with and also eats babies. The right NEVER does any of that! They just tell their sheep people to do it for them.

Here's Keith Olberman today and his take on Rush's "plan":

Limbot is a viscous idiot. He's a lying propagandist, like Coulter and O'Reilly, Savage and Beck; and A. Huffington's recent comments about him (them) are poignantly true: "The lunatic fringe has highjacked American Public Policy." Her comments on 20/20 were excellent too. The longer this cancerous bunch of miscreants is allowed to continue, the more insanely dangerous and dysfunctional our body politic becomes.

I wish I could add something Michael but you pretty much summed it all up. People constanly talk about "change" in the government. That's all fine and dandy but we need change in the "media" first and foremost. As long as the uninformed can get their "info" from the likes of these swine then government isn't going to help much.

By the way, when did journalism become media? I was wondering that awhile ago. Since most journalism these days is print and no one really reads print anymore, where did the disconnect happen? Talking heads on TV called the "media" are the only source of political and pop culture info for most of America. So what does that say about journalism? Thoughts that I ponder.
