For the record..

How someone votes should say something about them. In my quest to learn more about John McCain, I went here. I learned a few things about the guy. First off, McCain must've had designs on a White House run because he chose not to vote at all for most bills proposed in the last two years, including a slew of votes on Budget, Spending and Taxes. He hasn't voted on ANY environmental issue since 2005 (21 consecutive "eh"s) . Conversely, he's voted on all but one gun related bills that have been proposed since becoming a senator and the one he didn't vote on passed in a landslide. There have been 23 health related bills proposed in the past two years. McCain voted on three of them:

Yes on a bill to adopt an amendment that would define a "targeted low-income child" who is eligible for child health assistance under the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) as "an individual under age 19, including the period from conception to birth." The bill failed.

Yes on a bill to adopt an amendment that prohibits funds in the bill from being granted to organizations that perform abortions when a woman's life is not in danger, unless the organization is a hospital. The bill failed.

No on a bill that reauthorizes and expands the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The bill passed.

Of six Housing and Property related bills put to vote, he only voted on one, the Economic Stimulus plan of early 2008 which passed. He voted three times in favor of stem cell research, then, in what can only be characterized as maverick, voted in favor of an amendment that prohibits funds in the bill from being granted to organizations that perform abortions when a woman's life is not in danger, unless the organization is a hospital. The bill was rejected.

He hasn't voted on an Agriculture issue since 2002, but he almost never misses an Appropriations vote. He has never missed a vote on Congressional and Legislative Affairs. Although he hasn't chimed in on many recent Foreign Affairs votes, his overall record of Foreign Affairs appears favorable. Most bills he voted in favor of were adopted. And coincidentally, they were almost exclusively tied to military action. America.. I gotta be honest. The war in Iraq is dumb and expensive and I believe it to be a big puzzle piece in the economic struggle we face at home. John McCain wants to build a summer home there. If you know someone who is thinking of putting this man in office, help them as best you can. And when considering your media sources, know that these papers openly endorse him:
Arizona Republic Baltimore Sun Chicago Tribune Detroit News Journal Standard (Illinois) Kansas City Star Los Angeles Times New York Post New York Times Sacramento Bee Salmon Press (New Hampshire) San Fransisco Chronicle San Fransisco Chronicle San Jose Mercury News St. Louis Post-Dispatch Tuscaloosa News Waltham Daily News Tribune (Massachusetts)

I can't blog enough about this miscreant. I have literally lost my physical voice trying to argue with people who think this man (and Moose hunter) are the best thing since sliced bread!

Great post! Too bad that most GOP voters don't like to be confused with facts. They prefer sound bites, hyperbole, and nice photo ops.
