Elitism...

Heading into tomorrow's primaries we can only hope that Democrats are smarter than they have been showing recently. If Obama can somehow sweep the two states we might just have ourselves a nominee. Unfortunately, the wacky polls are showing that people in Indiana want this to continue till Denver. My brain is struggling to understand why they are still pushing for Hillary then I realized what may be going on. The Clinton camp came up with a retarded talking point campaign stating that Obama is an "out of touch elitist". She's sticking with this line of reasoning and when confronted by the fact that most economists think her gas tax break is idiotic, she came back with:

"We've been for the last seven years seeing a tremendous amount of government power and elite opinion behind policies that don't work well for the middle class... I'm not going to put my lot in with economists."

Sounds a lot like GWB to me, "Experts, schmexperts...I'm gonna listen to Jesus!". Economists that disagree with Hillary's gas tax plan are "elite opinion"? This is coming from a Yale graduate who married a Rhodes Scholar. Pot calls kettle black? Speaking of her husband, Bill has been going around small towns in N.C. today to talk to the regular folks that he and Hillary have sooooo much in common with. Here's Bill with my favorite quote of the day:

"You know, there was an article in one of the publications the other day making fun of me for being Hillary's ambassador to rural America. 'They sent that ol' boy out there running around these little towns. What in the world's he doing?' And this guy ended by - he thought he was insulting me - he said, 'Next thing you know, Bill Clinton will be taking Wal-Mart greeters to the polls,'" he said, prompting squeals of delight from an actual Wal-Mart greeter in the crowd and her friends."That's the kind of thing those people that aren't for us say. You know, they think we're dumber'n we are. I know, cuz I grew up in a place like this, and I figured out that people are just as smart here as anywhere else. But they ain't figured it out yet."

Well played Bubba, well played. I love how these two elitist salt of the earth people can parrot the local speak depending on where they are campaigning. How can you claim to have earned $109 million from 2000-2007 and then claim to "know" what's good for the working people. I can't wait for a picture of Bill and Hillary in overalls tomorrow. Watch for it.
